Types of Formwork Plans

1. General Formwork Layout Plan (Top View)

🔹 Description:
Shows a top-down view of all formwork elements on a specific level (e.g., slab, beams, columns).

🔸 Includes:

• Positions of all concrete elements
• Dimensions of beams, slabs, and openings
• Column locations
• Grid lines and dimensions
• Labels and codes for construction elements

2. Formwork Section Plans (Vertical Cross-Sections)

🔹 Description:
Vertical cross-sections through elements such as walls, columns, beams, and slabs.

🔸 Includes:

• Element heights
• Joint details (e.g., beam–column, slab–wall)
• Locations of embedded parts and reinforcement
• Material thicknesses and layers

3. Detail Drawings (Shop Drawings)

🔹 Description:
Shows exact dimensions and components of individual formwork elements (e.g., a beam form segment).

🔸 Includes:

• Precise measurements of each part
• Types of formwork (sliding, modular, custom)
• Anchoring and connection details
• Materials and supports

4. Assembly and Dismantling Plan

🔹 Description:
Shows the sequence for assembling and removing formwork, often in step-by-step phases.

🔸 Includes:

• Execution phases
• Methods of connection
• Temporary supports
• Safety instructions during assembly

5. Propping and Support Plan

🔹 Description:
Shows the exact positions of vertical supports (props, shoring) under slabs and beams.

🔸 Includes:

• Spacing between supports
• Types of props and beams
• Locations of additional shoring for temporary loads

6. Material Take-Off and Specification Plan

🔹 Description:
Displays calculated formwork areas and required material quantities for execution.

🔸 Includes:

• Total m² of formwork per level
• Number of plywood sheets, beams, props
• Planned reuse cycles
• Volume of concrete and estimated labor needs
